A YOUNG family-man has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer with locals banding to help fundraise.

Thirty-six-year-old Kyal Champion was diagnosed with Thoracic SMARCA4 Cancer (stage 4) in March last year.

His wife Jade Champion said the prognosis was bad with Kyal only being given six months.
