BROKEN Hill cat shelter, 4 Paws Kitty Galore, has made an urgent call for volunteers following a particularly busy period, with the charity facing closure if things don't improve.

Departing volunteers, alongside an influx of cats needing help, has left owners Christine and Ray Szmelter desperate for volunteers to perform domestic cleaning duties.
