540 days after going missing from a campground at Kangaroo Island, Valerie the sausage dog was reunited with her owners, former Broken Hill residents Georgia Gardner and Josh Fishlock, this week.

Ms Gardner said the reunion on Tuesday was very emotional.

“I was sitting on the ground when Lisa and Jared brought Valerie in, and she ran straight up to me,” she said.

“I just burst into tears....
