BELIEVED to be one of the oldest functioning corner stores in the country, Shelley’s Corner Store on the corner of Lane and Iodide Streets has been a part of Broken Hill’s streetscape for well over a century.

It’s estimated the shop first operated in 1890 as Wade’s Shop, a butcher serving the early Broken Hill mining community.
