BROKEN Hill lost one of her emissaries to the art world this week, with the passing of Denzel, who died of heart failure at the age of 13.

A Blue Heeler, Denzel began his life on the streets in South Broken Hill, abandoned by owners who couldn’t care for him. Life took a turn for the better at age two when Sydney artist Justine Muller, who was working at Fowlers Gap, drove to town for supplies.
