DARRYN Nicholls may be a former world champion clay-pigeon target shooter, but on Wednesday afternoons you can find him and his son Jared Nicholls at the local Clay Target Club in Broken Hill, modestly practising their aim for upcoming competitions throughout regional Australia.

This week they were preparing for a weekend trip to Echuca to compete against some 300 to 400 other clay target shooters, as well as each other.
