THE third Mad Max Marathon took place on the weekend, with runners braving the cold to run laps around the track at the Broken Hill Racecourse on Sunday.

Marathon organiser Brian Haddy said the event has continued to grow every year since its inception.

“We had about 250 register and about 230 turn up,” he said.

“The first year we ran we had 80, next year 180, so this was our biggest yet....
